"And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left."
Every life should be a purposed life. Most people do not live a purposed life. They just aimlessly go from one day to another. Nothing will be accomplished in this life without direction and purpose.
I. THE IMPORTANCE OF DIRECTION
A. It Is Important That We Know Where We Are Going.
B. It is also important that we go in the right direction.
1. Many people are going quickly, but they are going in the wrong direction.
2. Some do not know where they are going and some do not know what they are doing.
3. They may see a goal, but they see no way to reach that goal.
C. Many Confess To The Fact That They Do Not Know Why They Are Here On This Earth.
1. God has a definite task for each one of his children. "No man liveth or dieth to himself."
2. It is important that we find the task and get to work doing it.
3. But many will not be submissive enough to the Lord to let Him lead them into what He has for them.
4. God is willing to direct us, if we will allow Him.
II. THE SOURCE OF DIRECTION
A. The Direction Comes From On High.
The beautiful 23rd Psalm tells us, "He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake."
B. Biblical Examples Of God Leading His Children.
1. Abraham listened to God’s direction
2. King David: Goliath.....King Saul.....His entire life.
3. Elijah: Called fire from heaven in presence of Prophets of Baal.
4. Daniel: Willing to go to the Lion’s Den, by direction of God.
5. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: Going to the fiery furnace in obedience.
Note: It is far better to be obedient in the will of God than to make your own decision and be out of the will of God.
C. The Source Of Direction Comes From Heaven.
III. THE EFFORTS REQUIRED TO KNOW GOD’S DIRECTION.
A. To Have Direction, You Must Know Christ As Your Savior.
1. Salvation will bring direction to your life.
2. Being saved is the most important thing for direction.
B. Direction Will Come From The Bible.
1. The answers we need are found in the Bible.
2. God’s Word will eliminate all confusion and doubts.
3. Seeking God’s direction requires patience, and satisfaction with what we
