The Conclusion

Eccl. 12:13-14

Someone said that life is what happens while we are waiting around for something else. If you ever read the comics you will be acquainted with B.C. Every so often he climbs up a mountain to ask some great wise man a perplexing question about the meaning life. What he usually finds is that the wise man doesn't have the answers either.

What does it all mean? So many have started down that path, but few have truly found the answer. What does it all mean? Sometimes that is our response when we are overwhelmed by the circumstances of life. I wish I could tell you that I have all the answers, but I don't. There will always be situations and circumstances that are beyond my understanding. However, I can tell you this. Our lives will have meaning and worth only if we serve the Lord. Solomon was perhaps the wisest man, apart from Jesus, who ever lived on this earth. He devoted much of his life to answering the question of meaning and purpose in life. His conclusion is found in Ecclesiastes 12:13-14.

(ECCL 12:13-14) "LET US HEAR THE CONCLUSION OF THE WHOLE MATTER: FEAR GOD, AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS: FOR THIS IS THE WHOLE DUTY OF MAN. {14} FOR GOD SHALL BRING EVERY WORK INTO JUDGMENT, WITH EVERY SECRET THING, WHETHER IT BE GOOD, OR WHETHER IT BE EVIL."

I. What Does It Mean To Fear God. V13-14

II. God Instructs Us to Keep His Commandments. v13

Solomon said here is the conlusion of the whole matter: Fear God and Keep His Commandments. What about us this morning? What are we doing with the life that God has given us? Are we wasting it, or are we living it in the Will of God, serving Him and preparing for an eternity in heaven?

This way to set things right is so simple. God has prepared the way and provided the means of being reconciled to Him. He has made the way for you live as God intended you to live and to be what God would have you to be.

For the lost, the one who has not yet accept God into their life, the simple answer is to recognize that you are the sinner God says you are. And in simple faith in God's plan for you, repent of your sin and receive Jesus Christ as your Savior.

Whatever your need this morning, will you come and get serious with God?
